Mesa County deputy shoots man in Grand Junction on Tuesday night

A man was injured Tuesday night after a Mesa County deputy shot him while attempting to arrest him on a felony warrant.
Deputies were trying to arrest the man at 2842 North Ave., which is the address of a fast food restaurant, when the shooting happened about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, the Grand Junction Police Department said in a news release.
UPDATE : 1 male subject transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. MCSO will be responsible for releasing the names of their involved personnel. No further threat to the community and North Avenue remains closed between 28 ¼ and 28 ½ Rds.

The man was transported to a hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries,” police said, and no officers were injured.
North Avenue was closed in the area for several hours, police said on Twitter.
The deputy involved is on administrative leave pending the investigation by the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.
